An unexpected journey

Ayo Makanjuola FCCA grew up in the tropical forest of Ibadan, Nigeria – a world away from snow-covered Nova Scotia.

But thanks to ACCA qualifications acquired in Lagos, Makanjuola found success first as the CFO at Black Business Initiative Society (BBI), and then at Millbrook First Nation. 

The roles took him further north than he could’ve imagined, forging relationships with Inuit Communities who took him bear hunting, ice fishing and snowmobiling on the Arctic tundra. 

Now settled in Halifax, Makanjuola knows that his ACCA qualifications have helped drive an amazing and unexpected journey.
