Inuit empowerment

In the Canadian Arctic, in the remote Nunavut region, something incredible is happening. 

After Inuits claimed back their land, ‘birthright’ Inuit development corporations began springing up. Qikiqtaaluk Corporation is one of them – and Ali Sarfaraz FCCA is corporate controller. 

The corporation – owned exclusively by Inuit associations and governments – is helping to generate wealth for indigenous shareholders, and give employment opportunities to local Inuits. 

Sarfaraz is passionate about what QC do, and over the years he’s bolstered growth despite the many challenges that come with operating in such a remote region.
