Making History
When insolvency practitioner Sarah-Jane O’Keeffe FCCA was appointed to a new role as an Examiner in 2019, she didn’t expect to be making history.
But in the 29 years since examinership had been introduced in Ireland, not a single woman had been appointed. The absence of gender diversity was stark – and it took O’Keeffe to finally break through.
And she’s glad she did – not just because she’s made history doing it. It’s essential work, O’Keeffe explains, ‘you are crunching numbers, and the company’s survival depends on you getting those figures right.’ Safe to say, O’Keeffe’s certainly getting it right so far.
